Web Site Accessibility
In designing this site we have tried to consider the needs of all potential users. We have taken care to ensure that the pages are valid XHTML and have validated them on accessibility evaluation tools. Where automated checks have highlighted issues that require manual checking we have undertaken this form of check and where ever possible have made changes to ensure compliance. The page content and formatting are kept separate. We have used validated cascading style sheets to apply formatting and have used em measurements and percentages for type sizes so that you may increase the size of text and keep it in proportion.
We have endeavoured to order the page content of each page so that when the page is viewed unformatted, ie with cascading style sheets disabled, the main content is at the top of the page and links to other pages within the site and pages to other sites appears towards the bottom of the page.
The template pages used to build the site have been tested on a wide range of browsers to try to ensure that presentation is similar to the vast majority of users.
